YSATT (pronounced Why Sat), is the non profit umbrella organization established in 1994 by the boatyards and marinas within the Western Peninsular of Trinidad, to ensure the proper and controlled growth of the yacht service industry in Trinidad & Tobago.

With Trinidad’s fast growing yacht service industry, YSATT's role has become instrumental as a body devoted to the continued growth and well being of the industry, as well as promoting the interests of the yacht service industry, enhancing facilities, advancing the education of those engaged in the yacht service industry and improving industry conditions.

In 1995 YSATT officially employed a full-time secretary and opened an office in 1996. YSATT moved to a central location to better cater the yacht tourist industry. YSATT's functions include lobbying and liaising with government agencies, providing tourist information such as maps, brochures and advice on places in interest, working closely with Customs and Immigration to smooth entry and clearance procedures (we provide substantial funding for their offices at CrewsInn), providing an employment file and environmental awareness. The organisation also encourages training and provides members with statistics and other relevant information pertaining to the yachting industry. YSATT also screens and monitors its members on a continuous basis.

Jesse James

It is impossible to understate the importance of Jesse to the Trinidad and Tobago cruising community. His, Members only Maxi-Taxi and Tour Services, facilitates getting cruisers around the island for tours, to the markets to shop and to/from the airport to name only a few areas of help. He is also a major advocate for the cruiser in Trinidad. Many times he has been the driving force behind changes to the community to Benefitcruisers. He is also the port captain for both SSCA (Seven Seas Cruising Assocation) and OCC (Ocean Cruising Club). He is the person that most cruisers here turn to for help when it is needed. I have been sailing "Wild Matilda" for 34 years with ten of those in the eastern Caribbean. 2020 marks my the ninth visit to Trinidad and Tobago. Trinidad has become my second home. It is always great to return to my many friends. My second greatest passion is photography. I started before my teens helping my Grandfather in his darkroom. After college, I contributed photographs to two books and my camera became part my kit as I traveled the world as an engineer. After retirement, I was introduced to digital photography and focused on nature photography. I have two websites for my work:
